Dovetail Logs
Sisson Log Homes 4"x10" and 4"x12" Dovetail
Logs are rough cut from white pine. The interor surface my be
dressed (finished smooth) at additional cost if desired. Our
chinking, thematerial used to seal the spaces between the logs,
is composed of special motar mix with added vermiculite. this
compound is applied over rigid foam insulation and steel mesh.
The 6"x12" dovetail logs, alos white pine,
arae double tongue-and-groove design, dressed on both sides.
A hand-hewn exterior is optional. These logs are assembeled with
spiral spikes driven vertically through the logs, and as the
logs interlock, chinking is not required, but is usually desired
for aesthetic purposes. The V-groove 6"x12" allows for chinking
on the exterior only, and provides the appearance of 12" board
panneling on the interior walls. Weatherproof construction adhesive
/ sealer is applied between eac log run to prefent air infiltration.
